The Kabafita Fund is a small and personal charity that works with Women's Groups in The Gambia
to improve living conditions for all
​​through self-sufficiency projects, small businesses and education.  ​

The Kabafita Fund has the following aims:

 - To improve living standards by funding training for Women's Groups in fruit and vegetable preservation, and by helping them to start their own businesses.

 - To provide sewing machines and material for school uniforms. This enables more children to attend school, while also providing a lucrative business for the women.

We are a small and personal charity with very few overheads, so any donations go straight to those who are in need. We think it is vitally important to be able to support women to become self sufficient and empowered within their communities.

​The Kabafita Fund sources and ships out sewing machines from the UK. These are then given to Women's Groups to allow them to establish their own tailoring businesses.

The Kabafita Fund assemble solar drying frames and distribute these to Women's Groups who have community gardens. We also fund training in fruit and vegetable preservation and run courses on how to make sauces and  jams from the locally grown ingredients.

​The  Kabafita Fund also supports Women's Groups with other types of businesses, according to their needs and wishes. These have included poultry keeping, tie and dye and bee-keeping. We also support schools by providing them with teaching resources.
